After the result of the CMYK lamp, the idea came to also make a CMYK bulb. Which is easier to produce and you find yourself more in mainstream of lighting. That makes it many times more accessible. It’s the first light bulb that creates colored shadows which also can be very wonderful with existing shades.

Of course I had to come up with my ideal shade for CMYK bulb. The shade derived from a previous project; the RGB galaxy. A lamp that projects a colored confetti pattern to walls and ceiling. I chose this shape because the light sparkles through the little holes. Like a real diamond. The cheapest diamond ever made.

This year again Dennis is at Rossana Orlandi during Salone del Mobile 2013.

This year he introduces the lamp that anyone can buy. The CMYK bulb. The first LED-bulb that makes colored shadows.

EINDHOVEN AVANT-GARDE is an occasional collective founded by designers Tessa Koot and Niek van der Heijden and photographer Lisa Klappe.

The lamp is for sale for 790 euro incl VAT.

The lamp exhibited is a special CMYK lamp commissioned by Gallery Vivid in Rotterdam. The lamp is reversible. It can shine a elusive network of lines on floor and  and ceiling.

For the 10th time imm cologne presents the [D³] Contest which is one of internationally best known design competitions for young and up-coming designers. This year 671 products had been submitted for the [D³] Contest. Thereof 21 prototypes of 27 young designers from all over the world had been invited to Cologne to present their ideas for furniture, lighting and interior design to the international audience.

Within the Interior Innovation Award of imm cologne the internationally known jurors will award the best three prototypes of the [D³] Contest with the highly recommended Interior Innovation Award for the best young designers of the show.

Koelnmesse annually invites for the [D³] Contest and organises this competition in cooperation with the German Design Council.

The studio is looking for two candidates

Inside of Mobile is a new project gallery for contemporary design and research. The gallery is founded by Suzanne Rietdijk, a designer and art historian from the Netherlands.

Inside of Mobile explores the possibilities for creating a new understanding of contemporary design via an unique combination of consecutive presentations. These will serve as the visualization of an ongoing research into the formation of a new design manifesto.

According to the selection committees of peers who assessed more than 650 projects for DDA, in 2012 the quality of the work is as high as ever. Apparently, even in these tough economic times and in spite of limited resources, Dutch designers are able to come up with the most interesting and surprising concepts. The aspiration is clearly visible in the designs of all 27 finalists.

The selection committee choose the CMYK lamp for its exciting interplay of lines that has an educational function with respect to the action of light. It is also a highly aesthetic object.

Divided into three main categories, the lamp was placed into the category ‘Autonomous Design‘, 27 designs in total will compete for the prizes. An international jury will decide who are going to carry off the awards. All winners will be announced at an official award ceremony on Sunday, October 21 during Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven. That same week, from October 20 through October 28, the work of all finalists will be exhibited together in a special exhibition.
